Well Class, There has been so much wonderful discussions on the professional and ethical issues in our nursing practice. As nurses, we must adhere to our own beliefs and values and not judge our patients, co-workers or other professionals on their beliefs and values. As nurses, we must continue to provide excellent and highest quality of care to our patients regardless of race or culture.
Thank you for the wonderful comments on this issue. Thanks Christie

Conflict of interest for nurses
An issue that you may have or have had encountered as a nurse is conflict of interest. Conflicts of interest may arise in any given nurse activity such as clinical practice, administration, education adn or reseach. What ever area of nursing that you may practice, a conflict of interest may occurr.
What are professional boundaries? Professional boundaries are recognized by the nurse to maintain and establish appropriate boundaries within the profession. A nurse must maintain a professional relationship with their patients and not cross the line of that relationship (Butts & Rich, 2008).
Please consider this a thought when practicing. Thanks Christie

Ethical issues in the nursing practice
What ethical issues have you encountered while in your nursing practice? Has it been a physician not being honest with a patient? Has it been a colleague holding medication from a patient? These are a few issues that one day you as a nurse may face. As nurses starting in our profession, we trust everyone. That includes the physicians, co-workers, patients, families and our administration. But someone will not be honest with us and we will have to decide what action we need to take? This may be a serious issue that you may encounter on day. Please think about this questions, as to how you would handle these ethical issues and how your values and beliefs would effect your handling of these issues? Thanks Christie

Honesty in Nursing
Honesty in Nursing. Is it more than just telling the truth especially in the nursing profession? As nurses we must always be honest with ourselves, patients, families and colleagues. In the 2006 Gallup poll survey, the nursing profession was rated as the most honest and ethical profession (Saad, 2006). Any thoughts on this survey? Please feel free comment. Thanks Christie
